There's a movie I love from a few decades back, in which a main character is an open-plains lonesome cowboy, at home sleeping under the open sky. When asked why he never settled down and raised a family, he described a moment in which he saw the most beautiful woman in the distance, hanging the wash on the line in front of the morning sun, her hair flowing in the light breeze and her white cotton dress showing off the form that God had given her. In his own words, "it wasn't going to get any better than that", he locked in my mind the image of a man at peace with his world. He is the Mystic Wanderer.
lyrics
Mystic Wanderer
I never seem to go back to the places I have been
And when I’m heading somewhere, I see all that’s in between
If I could keep a promise, I may sit down for a while
But I’m a mystic wanderer, always chasing every mile
Now I don’t make a habit out of breakin’ people’s hearts
No I’m just not the stayin’ kind, I’m gone before I start
I’ve seen the depths of beauty, any deeper cannot be
I am a mystic wanderer, don’t shed a tear for me
CHORUS:
Oh, Lord, I’ve always been a wanderer
Happy just to be out on my own
Oh, Lord, I’ll always be a wanderer
The open road will always be my home
People seem to think that I’m a man without a life
‘cause I’m without a house, or any children or a wife
The sky is all the ‘home’ that I have ever seemed to need
And no one needs to understand this simple life I lead
CHORUS

Singer/Songwriter/Pianist/Producer/Engineer and many more things to many more people, Allister still can't decide what he
wants to be when he grows up. His music can perhaps be described as modern folk, since it contains rich storytelling and imagery, but it might be mistaken for Smooth Jazz, Roots or AC. You decide.
Any way you describe it, Allister's music will reach deep within and satisfy...more
